Earlier this year, we pitched to Seville-based global food brand, Angel Camacho. We’d hooked up with Camacho’s UK sales & marketing director, Jim Conlin, at the PLMA and whet his appetite with some ideas to support sales growth and increase supermarket listings for the company’s Spanish olive brand, Fragata.
Our campaign ‘Savour the Flavour of Spain’ focused on creating a dedicated Fragata website as an online hub to promote Fragata olives and other Fragata products. The website will encourage consumers to reminisce about their holidays or visits to Spain and engage them to cook up authentic Spanish tapas and dishes for family and friends. Using innovative Facebook and Twitter activities, teaming up with food bloggers and creating coverage in offline media, visitors to www.fragata.co.uk will generate third-party content to boost interest in the brand and products. Only 10 per cent of households in the UK currently purchase olives so there’s huge potential for us to help the brand grow.
This campaign really hit the spot with the teams both in the UK and Spain and we got the go ahead to start the campaign!
We’re now working on designs for the Fragata website and developing an SEO plan to maximise Fragata’s visibility and consumer touch points online.
We’re all excited about our latest food client, even those who don’t like olives (they will do soon!) and look forward to sharing how we develop this campaign over the coming weeks.
In the meantime, here’s what Jim Conlin has to say: “After several failed attempts to launch a PR programme in the UK, we met up with Public. From the start I had the impression that I was dealing with professional PR people. The initial meeting led to a full briefing meeting when we met with the wider team. We felt very comfortable that Public fully understood what we are trying to achieve and much of their background work prior to our meeting proved that. We are very pleased to be working with Public and that, thanks to them, after a couple of years our PR plan is on now the right track.”
