Merchant Gourmet:  Online and offline PR

The specialist food company Merchant Gourmet tasked Public with increasing brand awareness, driving sales and increasing market share by attracting new customers beyond their loyal customer base.

Public launched an integrated campaign that included consumer surveys, cook-along interactive online videos, product placement, direct communication with influential bloggers, regular ‘tweets’ and media releases based on consumer research on food habits. Due to the success, new Merchant Gourmet ranges are also now listed in all the major supermarkets in the UK.

Public’s marketing, Digital & PR activity has reached an audience of over 36 million people and supported a 30% YOY sales increase. This success has recently resulted in Public winning two more CIPR Gold awards: Best Digital and Best Consumer Campaign for ‘taking Merchant Gourmet to the masses’
